Look Out For The Driver Pulling Out & Turning Right

Look out for the car pulling out and turning right. He can't see around the parked cars. How would you react? When did you see the situation develop? This was filmed on dash cam and is designed for students to realise that situations can change at any moment and therefore to be prepared to react and deal with situations effectively. Why not pause the video at the moment you see the situation and try and imagine how it may escalate. Some elements of the situation develop in a fraction of a second so it is important be aware and react if necessary. This will help you prepare for your lessons, hazard perception and test. There are many situations that can develop and we hope that this video helps you with your learning.

Driving Tips For Success 1. Doing a bit of homework for yourself can really help. Your instructor may set you some tasks to do, things to reflect on or read up on. Try searching YouTube to get some information about the driving syllabus and what to expect on the day of the test. Many people have made blogs on their own experiences that may come in handy. Also the DVSA have published their own set of videos to support you.  Some of the videos may relate to the lesson you have just had or the lesson planned for next week that you will be doing, i.e. roundabouts and dual carriageways are a really good place to start.  2. Get involved, at the end of each of your lessons, it is advisable to have a look back on the lesson and have a chat with your instructor on what you need to work on to improve and better your progress. Tips for Learner Drivers Addressing Mistakes: When learning to drive it is important to reflect back on mistakes you make. Mistakes are normal and part of learning. Its very important that you can understand why you might have made the mistake and what you would do next time to prevent it from happening again. This will help you become a safe and competent driver. If you make a mistake and realise you have made an error - discuss it with your instructor. Try and address what you think you should have done differently. This is good self assessment. Planning Ahead: By observing the traffic lights ahead you can see, learn and eventually predict the sequence of lights - what might happen next? When are they likely to change? Will I need to slow down, can I continue to go if I slow down a bit before the lights with the anticipation of them changing from red to green by the time I get there?
